MEMORY OF TEXTILE

Download: Prihláška / Entry form / Anmeldeformular

Textile is such a common part of life that its exceptional values are often overlooked. Its close contact to body gives it emotional power. And in addition to many other properties, it also has the ability to record stories from the past – personal, intimate, but also collective. The historical memory of textile, as well as the private one, tell of past values, skills, relationship to the world and shift the legacy of its content towards the future.

We expect to see subjective and clear interpretations of the topic. The visual interpretation must include fabric-processing techniques as well as the artist´s own technique combined with fabric. The works of art must not exceed 20x20x20cm. A maximum of three works of art per one person may be entered. This exhibiting competition is open for professional artists and for students at universities of art. The artworks mustn´t include a special construction nor a frame. The weight of the package must not be more than 2 kg.

Artists who will be selected to take part at the exhibition are requested to pay an admission fee 30 €, students 20 €. Each participant will receive a catalogue for free.
