The Slovak Association of Textile Artists TxT cordially invites you to the international exhibition of textile miniature on the theme EMPATHY, presenting works by professional artists and students from multiple countries around the world. The exhibition will take place at Umelka Gallery in Bratislava.
The current edition of the International Exhibition of Textile Miniature on the theme EMPATHY features 65 professional artists and 21 students, representing more than 20 countries worldwide.Participating countries include Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, as well as countries outside Europe – Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
The exhibited collection was selected through an international open call by an expert jury and presents a wide spectrum of artistic approaches, techniques, and visual interpretations of the theme of empathy.
The exhibition explores empathy as an inner, quiet, yet essential movement that shapes our interpersonal relationships and perception of the world. Empathy is not understood merely as the ability to understand others, but as a conscious decision to approach another person’s experience—without the need to judge or simplify it.

About Textile Miniature:
Textile miniature emerged in the 1970s as a specific artistic discipline with dimensions limited to 20 × 20 × 20 cm. This format encourages experimentation with techniques, materials, and modes of expression. Artists employ techniques such as weaving, embroidery, bobbin lace-making, knitting, collage, and assemblage. Textile miniature has become an important part of contemporary textile art.

The organizers would like to sincerely thank Umelka Gallery for its long-standing cooperation. We look forward to your visit and believe that the exhibition “EMPATHY” will offer a unique artistic experience.
